  Favourable geographical location

  Zhoushan is located at the intersection of China eastern golden coastline and Yangtze River's golden waterway. Together with main Northeastern Asia and Western Pacific ports, namely Busan, Nagasaki, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, it constitutes fan-shaped shipping network with near 500 sea miles long radius. It is the hub of China South-North ocean shipping and river-sea inter-modal transport.

  Abundant marine resources

  Zhoushan New Area enjoys rare shoreline resources. It is an ideal location for Eastern China’s large modernized deep water port construction. The deep water coastline suitable for port development totals 280 kilometres in length, accounting for 18.4% of that in China. Zhoushan is famous for fishing grounds. It is abundant in over 500 types of marine products. Annual marine products’ output reaches 1.3 million tons, accounting for near one-tenth of the country’s.

  Sound infrastructure

  Zhoushan New Area has formed convenient land, sea, air three-dimensional traffic network. The construction of Zhoushan Cross-Sea Bridge was completed, making Zhoushan fully integrated into three-hour economic circle of Yangtze River Delta region. The highway to Shanghai is under consideration. Preliminary work of Zhoushan to Ningbo’s railroad is carried forward.
